What is Sweet Liberation?

The term Sweet Liberation gives a nod towards those moments when we're not comparing ourselves, not being hard on ourselves, and simply being who we are in the moment, doing the best we can whether life is up or down.

It’s about figuring out how to best navigate life in a way that works for you, without feeling pressured to do it in a specific way, without being guilt-tripped or ostracised because you’re not doing it ‘right,’ and without the noise and distraction of social media.

But let’s be clear. It's not about perfection, i.e. striving to feel great every day, only to experience an off moment – whether mentally or physically – and then being hard on yourself and striving even harder for perfection.

It's about welcoming our humanness and accepting the ebb and flow of life so that we feel better able to navigate challenges and feel content more often than not. We know there will be off days.

There are two branches: Publishing and e-commerce.

The magazine is the antithesis of most of what you'll find on social media regarding self-help, where the 'rules' can be rigid, and people's needs, circumstances, lifestyle, and health status are ignored.

Consider it as a place to wonder, to experiment, to play, and to mess up as you embark on the challenging journey of liberating yourself from being hard on yourself and trying to be perfect, and instead giving yourself permission to be your wonderful human self.

I’m right there with you.

How we get through and learn from our mess-ups, struggles, and wins is what will result in true success.

The store

The store offers a small range of everyday items printed with questions and reminders. They encourage you to welcome curiosity, reflection, and exploration into your life.

About Me

I’m curious, playful (although not always obvious), an introvert, and I write much better than I speak. What I write about incorporates my personal experiences and insights. I’m also a lifelong learner, so I’ll no doubt share my learnings too.

I don’t consume added sugars and haven’t since 2016, which is why you’ll find articles about being sugar-free or reducing your intake. I eat whole grains, fruit, veg, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. I also eat fish, as long as I don’t have to gut it and remove large bones. Please, no.

Fish aside, the rest of my diet is like that of a vegan, but I don’t, and can’t, call myself the same.

Nothing I say should be taken as gospel, but who knows what you’ll find helpful.
